The 11th ASEAN Framework Agreement on Competition (AFAC) Negotiation was virtually held on 29May 2024.
The Meeting was held in plenary and attendedby all ASEAN Member States (AMS), and the ASEAN Secretariat. The Meeting waschaired by Ms. Lolibeth Ramit-Medrano, Commissioner of the Philippine CompetitionCommission (PCC), Chair of the AFAC Negotiation.
The meeting considered and negotiated on the draft text, focusing on concluding the negotiation of Article 9 “Confidentiality of Information”, Article 10 “Technical Assistance and Capacity Building”, and Article 11 “Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises”.
The Meeting agreed on the work plan and discussed the preparation for the 12th AFAC Negotiation to be held from 13-14 June 2024 in Manila, Philippines.
